Broderick J. Rhyant MD, FAAFP

Dr. Broderick Rhyant is a family physician whose career reflects an enduring commitment to health equity, community empowerment, and public service. As Chief Physician Executive at Eskenazi Health Center Grande and Associate Chief Medical Officer at Eskenazi Health, Dr. Rhyant has led transformational initiatives that expand access to care for underserved communities across Indianapolis.

He played a key role in designing and opening the Eskenazi Health Center Grande Clinic, a model for community-responsive healthcare. Whether engaging with patients or advocating preventive health on local radio, Dr. Rhyant embodies a deep, personal connection to the people he serves—often knowing them by name and connecting them to vital community resources.

A passionate mentor, educator, and public health advocate, Dr. Rhyant also contributes to shaping the next generation of care providers as Assistant Professor of Clinical Family Medicine and Medical Director of the IU Master of Physician Assistant Studies program. His leadership in outreach, diversity, and preventive care exemplifies the spirit of this award and the core values of family medicine.
