Ruben Hernandez Mondragon, MD, FAAFP, DiPABLM 

Dr. Ruben Hernandez Mondragon is the Vice Chair for Education and Associate Professor of Clinical Family Medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine. With a career marked by exceptional leadership in medical education, Dr. Hernandez has consistently advanced family medicine through innovation, advocacy, and mentorship.

He is the visionary behind several impactful programs, including a department-wide Grand Rounds series and a leadership development initiative for chief residents. As Director of the Family Medicine Sub-Internship, he has championed cutting-edge curricula that foster inclusive care and global health awareness. His work with the ENLACE Nicaragua Immersion Program and the IU Student Outreach Clinic underscores his commitment to service learning and community health.

Nationally, Dr. Hernandez serves as Chair of the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine’s Medical Student Education Committee, helping shape the future of family medicine education across the country.
